Sudbury Dramatic Society Productions
Sudbury Ephemera Archive has some examples of the local dramatic society productions both at the Victoria Hall and the Quay Theatre. A few years ago SEA was given some programmes from the 1920’s and 30’s. The 1930’s productions were prepared and produced to raise money for a ward at St Leonard’s Hospital. It is interesting to see the cast list for these productions and also that during the interval home made sweets were on sale. This yet another example of the way local groups aimed to help the community.
Ephemera such as this gives family historians the possibility of learning about their ancestors’ hobbies or past time pursuits.
Some of the collection includes photographs and the local critics’ review from the Suffolk Free Press and/or the East Anglian Daily Times.
