Belle Vue House history revealed through wartime autograph book
The East Anglian Daily Times carried this article on Tuesday 29th April
We are grateful to Janet Smith who donated the book to the Archive through Val Herbert.
On Wednesday 16th April the East Anglian Daily Times had a photogaphic piece about an Autograph book that had been signed at the Harleston Hospital during the war.
This article led us to approach the paper to see if they were interested in our Belle Vue book dedicated to Nurse Madge Sewell.
Return of the Sudbury History Lectures 2014
The Suffolk Free Press recently published a piece on the return of the Sudbury History evenings to be held at the Quay Theatre.
Sudbury Ephemera Chairman Sue Tibbetts had the pleasure of giving one of these diverse talks. Sue’s talk explained the purpose of the Archive and give some insights into the gems that SEA are now preserving for the future that would have ended up in landfil.

Locality budget helps the growing Sudbury Ephemera Archive
The growing Sudbury Epemera Archive was delighted to recieve a cheque from councillor John Sayers to enable them to preserve the items that have been donated to the Archive. Old documents, maps, invoices and other items will now be kept in pristine condition thanks to this generous donation from the Locality Budget. The Emphemera Archive has now been able to place an order for more boxes and plastic wallets with the Suffolk Records office.

Thanks to the Rotary Club of Sudbury and Sudbury Talbot, St Peter’s Church, Market Hill, Sudbury was filled with the smell of pine and christmas lights of all descriptions
Long Melford Vintage Rally 2013
Following the success of the Monks Eleigh event, SEA was invited to take a pitch at the Long Melford Vintage Rally held on 6th and 7th July. SEA opted to be there on the Sunday, when fortunately, the weather was much kinder. Once again it was felt that the day was very productive.
Monks Eleigh Bygones Weekend 2013
The next outing for SEA was at the Monks Eleigh Bygones Weekend held on the Great Waldingfield Airfield on the 15th and 16th June.
Despite the deluge of rain during the Sunday afternoon it was a productive afternoon and well worth the borrowing of a gazebo and display boards. Continue reading
Unveiling of Gainsborough Statue and the Suffragettes 2013
The Sudbury Ephemera Archive made its first public appearance early in the year at the SUDBURY ON SHOW event sponsored by the Town Council.
Our next event was thanks to the generosity of Gainsborough’s House when they allowed SEA to hi-jack their celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the unveiling of the Thomas Gainsborough statue outside St Peter’s Church on Market Hill.
